A few weeks ago, a Love INC staff member had the pleasure of working with a young mother who was having issues with daily life. Homeless, unemployed, and struggling to feed her children, she moved to Canton and was staying with a friend. Her friend brought her to Love INC, hoping to find some way to assist this struggling neighbor.

Ashamed to ask for help, she reluctantly told us her heart-wrenching story. When she had finished her story, it was explained to her how Love INC could assist her with an offer to walk beside her. As she was informed about the different ways she could be helped, she had a puzzled look on her face. She then asked, “Why are you doing this? Why are you helping me?” The Connection Center representative assisting her stopped and explained that God told us to help one another and she was one of God’s children. That brought tears to her eyes, and a smile passed between them.

When all questions were answered and assistance was arranged, the neighbor was asked if there was anything else she needed. With a slight smile she replied, “Could you pray for me?” The Love INC representative responded that they could pray together and for this she was very grateful.
