A week prior to school starting its new school year, Love INC held the Adopt-a-Student program distribution of school supplies for struggling families. Another program is the Friday Backpack program which provides students with food for the weekend.

Part of the paperwork for the Friday Backpack program is to see if the families have a working microwave needed to cook some of the food provided. Love INC noticed that of all the families participating (21 children), 2 families did not have a microwave.

Love INC decided to contact its partner churches to see if anyone had a used microwave for these 2 families. Much to our surprise, one person heard about it prior to sending the message to the churches. This person didn’t have a used microwave but went to the store and bought 2 new microwaves.

When Love INC contacted the families to tell them we had a new microwave for them, both families were very grateful.
